April Straus, Principal Broker
April is everything you could ever want in a realtor. A historic property expert and dealhound who rarely pays retail, April is known for her wicked smarts, Southern charm, and devastating wit. She’s an interior design whiz and trained home stager who knows exactly what it takes to maximize the value of the home you’re looking to sell. When you’re looking to buy, you’ll be amazed how well the homes she shows you fit your taste and your budget. When you find the right home, she’s an experienced, detail-oriented negotiator with a talent for getting you the absolute most for your money. You’ll be glad she’s on your side of the table. Especially if she’s ordering the wine.
Betcha didn’t know that April followed the band R.E.M. from Athens, GA to New York City during her freshman year of college.
Treva Thomas, Realtor
With two sisters in the business, real estate is in Treva’s blood. She loves the renovation side of Bobby + April and quickly forms very strong relationships with her clients as she helps them find and transform their dream homes. A former gymnast and cheerleader, Treva is very competitive and LOVES to win (hear that, potential buyers?). She’s a foodie who also loves the Richmond art scene and hanging out with her family, which includes a high school-age son and daughter who know she can be bribed with Sweet Tarts, Sour Patch Kids, and the like. In addition to being a very active member of Second Presbyterian Church, Treva proudly supports area non-profits like the Richmond YMCA and the World Pediatric Project.
Betcha didn’t know that Treva’s husband Monte lived in Italy before they married and proposed to her in a Milan restaurant on Thanksgiving Day. She was so flummoxed she forgot to answer, but finally said yes after being, uh, “reminded” by the restaurant’s very vocal Italian patrons.
Kendal Thompson, Realtor
Kendal is a quick-witted Richmond native who is no stranger to scouting for the perfect home. Before joining Bobby + April, he spent years marketing RVA to film and television producers as a location for their projects. When he isn’t combing the streets looking for perfect homes for his clients, you can find him with friends at one of Richmond’s many watering holes planning a getaway to some distant shore.
Betcha didn’t know that Kendal has a twin brother who’s a seasoned Realtor in North Carolina.
Jennifer Fleming, Realtor
With a masters and Ph.D. in counseling psychology, you might guess that Jennifer is a big-time “people person”—and you’d be right. And with over a decade of experience as an administrator in a K–8 school, you’d also be correct in assuming that she’s über-organized and more than able to keep up with rapidly changing details that come with renovations and real estate transactions.
She’s a mother of two who loves Richmond city living, renovation, and working with her clients to make smooth, stress-free life transitions into the home of their dreams. Before she found her in-town dream home in RVA, Jennifer went to school in New York, and traveled for six weeks in India and Nepal (among other places). She’s an insatiable learner who loves cooking, wine, music, and traveling.
Betcha didn’t know that Jennifer’s love of food and cooking led her to study at the prestigious L’Ecole de Cuisine La Varenne in Paris. Google it and you’ll see why the response rate to her dinner party invitations continues to trend strong at 100%.
Tolson Musick, Realtor
Tolson is Bobby+April's official “Grand Old Man of Youth”, a 25 year-old who prefers good bourbon and a good book or Netflix marathon to a rowdy night on the town (although Can Can seems to have a magnetic effect on him). After a real estate internship and two years as Housing Manager for his college fraternity, Tolson caught the real estate bug and uses his knack for identifying the unspoken needs and wants of his clients to help them find the perfect home. And the perfect bourbon.
Betcha didn’t know that Tolson met April years ago and quickly became her official petsitter. If you know April, you’ll know what a big deal that is.
